America's Got... Heidi!

is it just me, or does this week feel super long? i feel like i've gotten no sleep and every day has D R A G G E D.

so after getting home from work last night, i felt like being a lazy ass, so i plopped right down on the couch and turned on the tv. watch out, your girl was getting crazy!

after watching a rerun of The Office (Jim, marry me. Seriously.) a new episode of America's Got Talent came on. My hand flew quicker to grab the remote than Shaquanna Bonquishaa grabbing a chicken nugget. (Pretty sure thats not ACTUALLY her facebook, but it makes me pee my pants just the same.)

I'm not really one to watch reality shows of any sort, well except The Voice here and there. But good Jesus, Blake Shelton. Need I say more?

So, as I'm going to change the channel, some dark act of sorcery came over the remote and would not let me do so. I figured it was some sort of sign from a higher power that I needed to see what my fellow American's talents were.

Between a little girl & boy brother/sister duo being METAL AS FUCK, an Asian woman doing a unicycling and bowl balancing act, and a Japanese man doing a bad ass robot slash matrix dance, I got to see something majestical.

HEIDI KLUM'S MAKEUP. I think the talent award should go to her makeup artist. (If anyone can tell me who this was I will love you forever. I didn't watch the credits after the show and Google is being a real bitch.)

Seriously. I died. Smokey/icy blue eyes, glowing skin, pop of color on the cheeks and a light rosy/pink lip.

Now thats how a smokey blue eye is done, without looking like she's going to prom in 1982.

Heidi Klum is so classic. I feel like every time I see her she gets more beautiful. I'm sorry Seal, but I think the divorce did her well. She's glowing. She looks happy. Her makeup is on point. Heidi looks SO PRETTY RIGHT NOW.

Later on we will have a post on all my favorite Heidi looks.

Now to go dig into my own personal stash so I can recreate this look for all you lovely's. I will have the products I used listed as well as a how-to. Stay tuned! auf wiedersehen!

Summatime Fine Part 1

SO its almost summertime in Upstate, NY. I know its the end of June and all, but I guess Mother Nature is just taking her sweet ol' time this year. What else is new. Anyway, last weekend's weather was amazeballs.

No doubt, it was time for this pale Spanish girl to get some color. So i busted out the Hawaiian Tropic Deep Tanning Oil with an SPF of 8. I know I know, use more SPF, Lins. But damn, ya girl was trying to get her Puerto Rican on.

As I'm laying there soaking up the sun and wondering why in the hell every single bee felt the need to whisper sweet buzzings in my ear, I had a mini freak out. If I get too dark, I will have ZERO foundations that match me. I know what you all are saying, "THE STRUGGLE IS REAL." #firstworldprobs.

And then I remembered that tan skin really doesn't need that much coverage, and I felt much better about my SPF8. Everyone's skin looks so much better a little sunkissed, and ladies, this is the time of year to let your skin breathe. For the love of everything ever, please stop caking on your foundation in the heat of the summer. It doesn't look good and it makes everyone uncomfortable.

Tinted moisturizers & BB creams are a godsend in the summertime after you get some color. They are lightweight, moisturizing, and most of them have some sort of SPF intact. My go to product in the summer is Laura Mercier's Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. Seriously. It gives enough coverage, highlights in all the right places, and makes me look like a bronzed goddess. So.freaking.beautiful. Seriously, run don't walk.

If I'm looking for something with a bit less shimmer for a more matte and natural look, I'll grab her oil-free tinted moisturizer or Garnier's oil free BB cream. Seriously, thank you BB creams.

Even though these are moisturizers, I still put some sort of a primer underneath them. You always want to create a barrier in between your skin & makeup. Primers smooth pores and lines as well as any other imperfections. Not to mention primers are like velcro to anything you put on top of them. Right now I am LOVING LOVING LOVING MAC's Prep+Prime Natural Radiance. Again, run don't walk. We will have a post later on my love affair with primers, this just isn't their time yet!

Most of the time I apply these products with my fingertips in a patting motion. Try not to rub. They are also super beautiful when applied with a foundation brush. Using a brush also saves dirtying your hands and uses less product.

Our skin is so much different in the summer than winter, and we need to remember to switch up the products.

More posts to follow with a whole summertime face look as well as other kick ass products.

the first step is admitting you have a problem... right?

Hello friends!

The name's Lins and i love I'm addicted to makeup.

Yeah yeah, I hear what you're saying. Every girl says this, right? I mean yeah, that's probably right. But for me, its bad. Like really bad. Like 26 lip glosses in my bag at any given second, bad. Like a double trip to MAC and Sephora on payday bad. Like driving over 100 miles to get the coveted Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette, bad. Sure I could have ordered it online, but when I want something, I need it. Yesterday. Anyway, you get what I'm saying. buttttttttttt

so i've been thinking about jumping down the rabbit hole into bloggerland for quite some time. i know that i love to write, but never knew what to write about. then it hit me! makeup, silly girl. you love to write, and you loveeeeee makeup, sooooo, write about makeup!

stay tuned for a magical ride through makeupland! we'll be talking about our most favorite "holy shit that looks awesome's" and "girrrrrllllll no you didn'ts." there will be lotsssssss of product reviews and tutorials, as well as a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
