Girl! Where ya been?

Hello little lovelies!

So obviously I have been M.I.A for quite some time, and for that I apologize. I could use the same old excuse, "life has been a little crazy right now," and while that is mostly true, there is also something bigger than that.

I haven't felt inspired. Do any of you ever feel that way? Is it just me?

Don't get me wrong. I live and breathe makeup. I'm all for the newest products and hottest trends. But sometimes, like everything else in life, you just fall into a rut.

It's not something you fall willingly into, but before you know it, you are consumed by it. And the reality of it is, a rut can be a damn hard thing to break out of.

I blame the summer. haha. As weird as that sounds, I do.

I got all sorts of comfortable with my tan skin & my 5 minute routine. I'd mix together some MAC primer and Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer & slap it on my face, then I would grab Nars Orgasm blush (Holy Grail hellllooooo), some mascara and lip gloss and away I went. I barely grabbed an eyeliner, and forget about brow work (GASP!)

Now I'm all for a quick routine, but when you have as much makeup as I do, its really a sin to let it all sit there. I often find myself relating my makeup to Andy's toys from Toy Story as he get's older, kind of like "why doesn't she play with us anymore?!" It sort of breaks my heart.

Last weekend I had had enough. For the first time in about 3 months, I went to Sephora. (Yikes! I know, 3 months, like seriously?!) It was really my mom's doing. She needed to pick up some more Urban Decay Primer Potion and I knew that if I went in there I would be forced to do something about my rut. When you bring a girl like me into a store like that, or that exact store to be specific, magical things are bound to happen.

Needless to say, I picked up quite a few things. I am so thankful that the seasons are changing, because now all the Fall lines are out and some of these are giving me life! Fall also forces me to mix things up because my skin and wardrobe are changing.

Thank you Fall for breaking me out of my rut. Oh! And also, pumpkin coffee.

So, here I am. Lets get back to all things makeup. :)
