How original of
me... right?
So, here we are
again. I try and try and tryyyy to love you, but I can't. It just won't happen.
Most of the time I just want to punch you in the face, Monday.
As per usual, I
can't get out of my own damn way, or out of bed for that matter. Once again,
being the zombie I am, after watching
The Killing for 3 hours last
night (yeahhh the same episode played 3 times in a row), I made the snooze
button my bitch this morning. Or at least I thought I did. What I really did
was turn the alarm off. GOOD JOB LINS.
Its now about 8:30
and I have to be to work at 9. Ha. Right. That leaves me 30 minutes to shower,
do my hair & makeup, get dressed, pack my lunch, snuggle my Penny cat and
drive to work. I know what you all are saying. GIRRRLLL, YOU BETTA WERRRKKKK!
When you work with
the public, you can't really look like 'who-did-it-and-ran.' Even though I'm
wearing that look very well lately. So I throw everything together, toss my
makeup bag in my other bag and scoot out the door. On my way to work I start to
look at myself in the mirror and think "Good Jesus, get some makeup on
that face."
At about 9:15 I
blast into the parking lot at work, run in past my coworkers straight to the
bathroom. I have a blemish the size of Mt.Kilimanjaro and had no makeup on. I'm
pretty sure you all catch my drift. Scary stuff.
There I am
standing in the bathroom diagnosing my face and saying to myself "what am
I going to do with this?" Lately I am loving the "no-makeup makeup
look," so that's what I went with.
So, I bust open my
Betseyville makeup bag.
Suuuuper cute, I
know.
Betsey Johnson,
you mah girl.
I suddenly start
to feel like Hermione Granger from Harry Potter with her magic bag that never
ends. I start ripping out foundations and concealers, blushes and bronzers,
well you catch my drift.
Here is what I
ended up using:
Mac Prep+Prime
Natural Radiance
I put 2 pumps on
my fingers and patted it all over into my skin.
It gives such a
beautiful, radiant glow.
Seriously, go buy
it now. In fact, get 2.
CoverGirl Outlast
Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation
I'm usually such a
foundation snob, and typically only use MAC or Laura Mercier,
but ya know, times are tough!
I always find
drugstore foundations are either too yellow or pink.
I kept reading
reviews for this and have seen it all over Instagram and finally gave in.
This stuff is
CRACK. Holds all day and looks just as good when i get home.
I would definitely
recommend using a primer with it.
It comes in a ton
of shades. Right now I am using shade Medium Beige #842.
It gives my skin
such a beautiful finish!
Sephora Collection
Precision Sponge
I applied my
foundation with this in a stippling motion.
First you wet the
sponge just a bit, apply product on top, and stipple away!
The application
looks FABU!
Beauty Blenders
like this are all the rave now in the makeup community.
Use one and you
will see why. I don't know if I'd ever go back to using a brush!
(A whole post on
blenders to come!)
Benefit Cosmetics
Fake-Up Concealer
RUN DON'T WALK. GO
BUY THIS NOW. RIGHT NOW.
This magical
little number comes in 3 shades, light, medium & dark.
I'm currently
using the medium, and it IS all that is cracked up to be.
I use it under my
eyes, and what a difference.
The coverage is
incredible and IT DOESN'T CREASE.
let me repeat that
one.
IT DOESN'T CREASE.
Benefit, I LOVE
YOU.
L'OREAL Magic Lumi
Concealer
I use this as a
highlighter under and around my eyes and down my nose.
THIS STUFF IS
AMAZING.
I was in
Walgreen's the other night browsing for more nail polish and came across this
beauty.
I'm always looking
for the perfect highlighter, so I bought it on a whim.
It did not
disappoint.
Super love it.
Super, Super love
it.
MAC Bronzer in
Refined Golden
I've been all
about bronzer lately.
It is summer, but
apparently it's summer in Seattle, because all its doing is raining.
This gives me the
perfect glow, without looking too orange or brown.
Perfectly
sunkissed in all the right places.
MAC Mineralize
Skin Finish in Lightscapade
RUN DON'T WALK.
BUY 2. BUY 3.
This stuff is
amaaaazeballs.
I use it as a
highlighter on my cheekbones and forehead.
It gives the
perfect glow.
Its perfect.
Seriously.
Go get one.
Maybelline The
Colossal Volum' Express Mascara in Glam Black
I always come back
to this mascara.
I use about 4-5
coats. (Let dry for a minute in between coats.)
It gives me super
beefy lashes & doesn't break the bank.
What's not to
love?!
Anastasia Go Brow
Kit in Brunette
Ok Sephora, you
got me.
This little number
was in the "impulse buy" section in the checkout line.
I saw this and
figured, what the hell. It perfect for "on the go."
& it does not
disappoint.
The pencil color
is perfect and the brow gel helps keep them in shape and holds all day.
There's a reason
why Anastasia is the Queen of Brows.
Dior Addict Lip
Glow
This lip balm is
THE perfect go to lip for a "no makeup" look.
It the perfect
pink, and adjusts with you.
Its basically
magic.
It super hydrating
and has great staying power.
I always get
compliments whenever I wear it,
and its a great
pink to wear when you don't want your
lips entering the
room before you do.
Get some.
It lasts
foreverrrrr too!
So that, my loves,
is what I used to beat my face today.
I will try to add
a picture later to see the finished product, but its kind of awkward to take a
"work selfie" when you work at the front desk!
The finished face
looks clean & polished without looking like too much effort had been put
into it.
Have any of you
guys tried any of these products? Let me know your thoughts!
Until next time!
lip gloss kisses &
glitter wishes,
Lins
